I’ve recently had to travel regularly for my job. Initially, I was always struggling because the hotels sometimes didn’t have everything I needed to make it through a week. After a lot of mistakes, I’ve finally created the perfect packing list for work!

Electronics
If you are travelling alone it’s important to be able to contact your friends and family back home. One tip I have is to turn on your location services and have alerts on when you leave certain locations. This can help keep you safe when you are by yourself. You also want to have something to keep yourself entertained at the airport and during your time off at the hotel.

Clothes
This is the minimum amount of clothing I can survive a week with. Sometimes I only go with a carry-on and I need everything to fit into a small suitcase. You can adjust this part depending on your job’s requirements.
- dress pants
- sweaters
- shirts
- name tag
- bras
- underwear
- socks
- leggings
- sweatshirts
- jacket
- pajamas
- hat
- sneakers
Miscellaneous
These items might be listed under miscellaneous but a lot of these are essential for your travel. Most other things on this list can be bought if forgotten at home.
- wallet
- boarding pass
- alcohol wipes
- hand sanitizer
- masks
- work notes
- pens
Toiletries & other essentials
A lot of things on this part of the list can also be bought once you reach your location. However, if you are working long hours you don’t have the time to go buy things. Also, as I have found, in small towns the shops tend to close pretty early and if you get off work late you miss your chance to go shopping.

My biggest struggle was not having a kitchen for meals. Even worse than that was not having the right utensils. So I’ve made it a habit now to pack some utensils to each microwavable meals, cereal, noodles, and other kitchen-free meals.
