After my wedding I had a pile of wedding cards stashed in a bag that I didn’t know what to do with. I didn’t want to throw the cards away because of all the sweet messages from family and friends. I decided to make a wedding card binder as a keepsake.
I bought a small binder online. I wanted a size that wouldn’t be too big for my cards. I found the best size was an A5 binder. I also bough 6 hole punch. I wasn’t very impressed with the hole punch because some of the thicker cards did not fit in it.
I gathered all my cards in a big pile and removed each one from the envelope, making sure to check there wasn’t anything left in the envelope. I recycled all the empty envelopes.
I then used the hole punch on each card until all of them had been hole punched. The only cards I was not able to hole punch were the thicker cards. I think if I had researched the hole punch more I might have realized it wasn’t great for thicker paper, but it was the only 6 hole punch I saw at the time for a reasonable price.
Next, I put each card in the binder. I sorted the cards by size, but you could also sort the cards in other ways. I also did find the binder I bought was a bit stuffed by the end. If you don’t want to buy a larger binder you could just keep the cards from close friends and family in the binder as a keepsake.
Overall, I think this is an easy and fast way to create a wedding card keepsake. It didn’t cost too much and it didn’t take too long to put together. It helped to clear a bit of clutter from my home. I can also use the binder as a decorative piece in my home.
